Doula training in Pennsylvania

In Pennsylvania, there is no requirement for a certification to work.  Both certified and uncertified birth doulas are allowed to work in the state because becoming certified is strictly voluntary.

CAPPA Certified Labor Doula Training Program

Ready to become proficient when offering professional labor support? Take the first step towards becoming a Certified Labor Doula with CAPPA.  This eighteen hour workshop meets the first requirement of your CLD program and prepares you to work through the steps for certification. This course is designed to provide a foundational skill base, knowledge, and perspectives on professional labor support for perinatal professionals, as well as providing training for those seeking certification as certified labor doulas with CAPPA.

Offering 18 CAPPA Contact Hours. Nursing contact hours potentially available on request.

Erica Manto-Konya, As a perinatal professional who has been working as a doula for the last 10 years, my philosophy is that giving birth is a normal physiologic event in a woman’s life. Research has proven the benefits of working with a doula, and I believe everyone should have access to a doula during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a doula, I am very committed to helping women achieve a positive, informed, and powerful birth and mothering experience. Refund policy: If the trainer cancels the class, the entire fee will be refunded. All other cancellations will be charged a $50.00 processing fee. If the cancellation is made within three weeks of the class, NO refund will be given.
