There is no restriction in Wyoming to have a certification in order to practice in the state. Some doulas do become certified to become qualified for specific jobs, however, it is voluntary. Additionally, Wyoming does not require a high school, college, or equivalent degree in order to work in the state.

Course and Workshop Topics
As part of your doula training, these classes will cover the following:
- Experienced nurses will educate you on the physical aspects of birth, including basic anatomy and physiology
- Discuss how to provide comfort to the mother and relieve stress with such techniques as massages and relaxation breathing exercises
- Discuss different options to control pain during labor and birth
- Learn various positions for a more comfortable labor
- Learn breastfeeding benefits and techniques as well as basic newborn care such as diapering
