In Alaska, there is no requirement for you to receive a certification as a birth doula. Also, there is no requirement for you to have a bachelor’s degree or any other type of university degree.

- 3 day Birth doula training workshop (requirement towards DONA certification)

Course and Workshop Topics
As part of your doula training, these courses will cover the following:
- Identify duties of a doula, a nurse, a doctor, and a midwife
- Understand both the emotional and psychological impact of labor and birth
- Roleplaying to learn how to empower the mother
- Identify the onset of labor
- Discuss the ethics and requirements for certification
- Explain the role of a doula during difficult pregnancies and cesarian sections
- Understand the importance your role during the postpartum period

Birth doula workshop – $450
A non-refundable $100 deposit is required during your registration
A $25 discount is available if the fees are paid at least 21 days before the class
