Like many other states, Florida does not require doulas to have a certification in order to work within the state. Additionally, there is no requirement for a degree from a university to work in Florida.
The following is a list of educational classes available in Florida which can be used for your doula training. Some classes are a mandatory part of a certification curriculum. If you have enrolled a certification program, please read the details carefully to determine whether the courses are a required part of the curriculum.

Course and Workshop Details
This is a 3 day curriculum which includes 2 classes and one 16 hour workshop. These classes and workshop are all required if you are enrolled in the DONA certification program and they will be offered on the following dates:
- Breastfeeding for Doulas class – April 7 or June 9, 2017
- Introduction to Childbirth for New Doulas class – April 7 or June 9, 2017
- Doula training workshop – April 8-9 or or June 10-11, 2017
