There is no requirement to become a certified postpartum doula in New Hampshire. It is entirely up to you to decide whether to pursue a certification, but it is not required in the state. It is also not required for you to have a university degree to practice.

Course and Workshop Details and Requirements
This is a 4 day postpartum doula training workshop which satisfies the workshop portion of the DONA postpartum doula certification. Will you still need to take a Breastfeeding class to satisfy the rest of the DONA requirements. You can attend and receive training even if you are not enrolled with DONA. The workshop is offered on May 6-9, 2017 from 8:00AM – 5:00PM daily.
Costs and Fees
The cost for the postpartum doula workshop is $540. Â There is a 20% discount for currently certified doulas who wish to complete their continuing education credits.

Class and Workshop Details and Requirements
The classes taught are Newborn Care class (2.5 hours), Breastfeeding class (2.5 hours), and Infant CPR class (2.5 hours). Â These classes are not affiliated with a certification organization such as DONA or CAPPA.
Course and Workshop Topics
These classes will teach you the following concepts about providing postpartum support to the new mother and baby:
- Learn about newborn behavior and how to recognize newborn crying and sleeping patterns as well as feeding cues
- Discuss how to swaddle and hold an infant
- Review the basics of breastfeeding techniques and how to express and store milk, taught by a IBCLC instructor
- Learn how give cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other lifesaving techniques to a newborn, taught by certified BCLS instructor. Course will include a video, demonstration, and book but does not grant a CPR certificate.
