You are not required to have a certification in order to become a postnatal or postpartum doula in the U.K.  Additionally, there is no requirement for you to have graduated from a university in England or abroad in order to start working as a business.

This is a multi-class workshop which is required for recognition as a postnatal or postpartum doula by Doula UK.  The classes are comprised of:

  • Initial Doula Preparation Course - teaches the fundamentals of being a postnatal doula
  • Development Course - for new or aspiring postnatal doulas
  • Twins and More Workshop - how to manage multiple newborns
  • Understanding Newborns Workshop - teaches the essentials of newborn care

The 5 day workshop will consist of a 2 day Birth Doula workshop and a 3 Day postnatal doula workshop.  These courses are not affiliated with a certification granting organization such as DONA or CAPPA.

As part of your birth and postnatal doula training, these classes will teach you the following concepts:
