Doula Training in Mississippi


In Mississippi, doulas are not required by law to hold a certification.  This means that you can work as an uncertified doula in the state.  However, some jobs require a certification in order to apply.  Additionally, Mississippi does not require doulas to have a college degree or equivalent in order to work or study to become a doula.

Below is a listing of various educational classes or other resources in the Mississippi area which you can use for your doula training.  Not all classes are required by various certification granting programs, so please read the details carefully.  You do not have to become certified in order to attend, however, it is required that you be of at least 18 years or older.

Course and Workshop Details 

This is a 2 day labor doula training workshop offered from Feb 25-26, 2017.  It will be from 8 to 6 on both days.  This workshop is is required if you enroll in the CAPPA certification program.

The birth doula training workshop is affiliated with DONA and fulfills the workshop requirement for for a DONA certification.  The workshop will run from July 14-16, 2016  from 8am-5:30pm everyday.

As part of your doula training, these courses will cover the following:
  • Learn  how to provide emotional and physical support to the mother during her pregnancy, labor, and childbirth
